2008 Sponsors

In Cooperation With

2008 Bridging the Cultural Divide Between Banks and Insurers

In June 2008, we completed a USA Study, and we are currently looking for sponsors for our 2010 Bridging the Cultural Divide Study.  Please see Sponsorship if you are interested in either sponsoring or responding to the newest study in the USA.

All previously published studies are available on this site including the new 2010 South African Study and the 2009 Middle East Study.  You are invited to download a copy of the the 2008 survey in PDF form by clicking here, or view one of our previous surveys, 2005 or 2003 USA survey by clicking here.  You can download the other Studies by clicking here.

The Studies are unique in they give essentially the exact same questionnaire to both bankers and insurers and then use  “statistical gap analysis” techniques, to quantify the cultural issues; therefore using hard evidence to uncover and explore the qualitative issues banks and insurers must tackle to achieve success.  The Studies continue to investigate the concerns confronting banks and their insurance partners.

This innovative research quantifies the issues that create barriers to success and it exposes the non statutory disincentives to affiliation. These disincentives are rooted in the cultural differences between banks and life insurers; their distinctive business models, as well as how these institutions are regulated, attract customers, distribute their products, and make a profit; in essence their culture. By identifying the gaps in perceptions, major themes emerge.

The Studies are organized along six major topic groups: distribution, marketing & sales, products, risk & profitability, administrative & operations, and effectiveness.

The Studies can be used as an innovative approach for opening and continuing dialogues between banks and insurers. The results of the Study can be reformatted to address individual company needs.
